XE3 FMX + Tee Chart Pro 2015

Hi all,

I just installed TeeChart Pro 2015 for XE3. I created a new FMX HD application with a single form and add a TChart object on the form. The compilation failed (see the build output at the end of this post).

I've checked all paths in the IDE options and their are ok.

I really don't know what to do.

Hello,

I've just tested it and I can confirm it works fine for me here: a new C++ Builder HD FireMonkey Desktop application, with just a chart on the form, on RAD XE3 with TeeChart Pro v2015. This application builds and runs fine in Debug mode for Win32, that seems to be the exact environment where you are trying to build that application.
I've checked it both with TeeChart v2015.14 and TeeChart v2015.15.

So if a new simple project doesn't build fine, I'd insist verifying the paths. Please make sure the TeeChart Pro paths are on the top of both lists (Include and Library).

If you still find problems with it, please send us that simple project with just a chart on the form and we'll take a look at it.

I could open, build and run it with RAD XE3 without doing any modification to the project.
So it has to be something in the installation/settings of the IDE or the component.

Do you have TeeChart Pro v2015.14 or TeeChart Pro v2015.15 installed?

I'd try to reinstall the component: you can run TeeInstall.exe from the TeeChart installation folder twice (one to uninstall and one to reinstall). This utility uninstalls/installs the component from/to the list of packages but doesn't remove the TeeChart installation from the disk.
We always recommend to check the paths after reinstalling the component.

Actually, if the problem is in the headers, running TeeInstall won't reload them. A complete uninstall & reinstallation of the component could be a better idea in this case.

I'd try to install the latest version, v2015.15.

We are several devs in the office so I have to have the same version as the others. So I will stay on 2015.14 like them as it's working for them.

I just uninstalled the component and download the setup TeeChart2015RADXE3.exe, January 23, 2015, Build 2015.14.150120, File size - 184,78 MB from your website. And I will reinstall it.

I'll let you know when it's done but I have already done it twice with no success.

This is a known problem we found in that release and fixed with v2015.15.
As you can read here, there's no problem with skipping it.

Yes, that's normal. This is just to inform you the TeeChart Lite/Standard version that was shipped with the IDE is going to be moved. You are supposed to accept that dialog and let the installation continue when this message appears.

What OS are you using? Windows 8 is more delicate with the rights. I'd check you are running everything as administrator.
Is your IDE a complete RAD Studio or only C++Builder? If you also have Delphi personality, I'd try a new simple delphi FMX project to see if the component works fine there or not.

If a new simple application with just a chart on the form doesn't work in Delphi either (after checking the Library paths are correct), I'd check the components are correctly loaded in the IDE.
Do you have 3rd party components installed that may be loading some TeeChart version different than the Pro version installed? Are the "TeeChart Pro 2015 for FireMonkey Components" packages selected in the IDE?
