Control 'TabSeries' has no parent window

Control 'TabSeries' has no parent window

I am using TeeChart v2011.04.41118 VCL 32 bit with Delphi 2010 and am trying to modify an existing series in a TDBChart. When I try to modify the field to be plotted from a dataset, I get an error message "Control 'TabSeries' has no parent window". I have never had this before. What am I doing or is it a bug.
