While installing I get this error, what should I do?

Are you installing the binary version or running TeeRecompile shipped with the SourceCode version?

Hi Ken,

We can't reproduce the problem here. I suggest you to run TeeInstall.exe utility from the TeeChart installation folder "as administrator".

Note you may need to run TeeInstall more than once if it tells you that it needs to uninstall existing files first time round.

If the problem persists, please don't hesitate to let us know, telling us what TeeChart packages are listed under “Component\Install Packages” in the IDE.

Is there anything else I should try?

I pressed NO.

This means TeeInstall found TeeChart packages installed in the IDE. To reinstall them, you can run TeeInstall once to uninstall them (so pressing YES in the that message), and reinstall them runing TeeInstall again.
The second time, TeeInstall shouldn't find the packages installed and a different message should be shown.

So it seems the packages have been correctly installed, except for TeeTree. Do you need TeeTree?
Could you please check the paths also?
If the packages you need are installed there's no need to run TeeInstall. You can just check the paths and also check if a new simple application with just a chart on the form builds and runs fine.

We've been able to reproduce the problem here with the binary installer.
It seems that TeeInstall is looking for a path in a key in the registry and this key is only present if you ever installed a source code version.
We are trying to fix the problem for the next maintenance release.

In the meanwhile, those who are getting that error in the installation, note you can continue with the installation and all the packages except on TeeTree should be correctly installed. However, a verification of the list of packages and the library path is strongly recommended.

And those who need TeeTree should still be able to install the packages manually (DclTree2DXXTee9.bpl in the "Bin" folder of the TeeChart installation).

I tried to install the software to my XE6 in the fall and when I had some issues; I put it to the side.
now I have installed TEEChart again and I get this error.

Sorry to say, I don't want to learn how the ide works at this level or where TEEChart is supposed to go.
I just want the install to work. I don't know what TeeTree is but, I would like to know the install works properly.
I don't even mind doing a bit of work to get everything up and running, but, what does this statement below mean.

Where do I get this file and where do I put it?
My fresh install put on TChart Lite, do I need to remove it first?
How do I remove it and all its references?

We are sorry for the inconvenience generated and we are doing our best to fix this.
In the meanwhile we also try to suggest an as easy as possible workaround for those finding that error message in the installation.

Note TeeTree is a library shipped with TeeChart. If you are not using this library, you can just skip the error message.
The installer should have put everything in place, including the paths, but we use to suggest verifying them manually to get an environment as clean as possible.

If you don't know what's TeeTree you probably don't need to do this.

Installing a component in Delphi is quite easy, you just have to navigate to "Component/Install Packages...", click on "Add..." button, navigate to the place where the .bpl is (in this case wherever you have installed TeeChart - "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steema Software\TeeChart 2015 for RAD XE6\Delphi20.win32\Bin" by default in a 64 bit Windows machine), and select the package (in your case DclTree2D20Tee9.bpl)

No, you don't have to remove TeeChart Lite. The installer backups it and removes it from the palette for you.

I installed the TeeTree.

I am still getting the error. It says it can not install package Tee9200. It contains VCLTee.TeeGDIPlus which is also contained in package Tee920. ??
