TeeChart does not install properly in D2005

I have Delphi 2005 Enterprise Update 2. I tried to install TeeChart7 (standard) using the installer and at the very end of the installation I got a "TeeChart files to Auto install connot be found" error. After clicking OK the installation finished. I use TeeChart with QuickReport and have version 4.05 installed. The welcome.txt says that the documentation for using TeeChart with QuickReport is in a "quickreport" folder, but no folder exists. I tried to uninstall TeeChart and got a "Could not open install.log file" error. Now I have a potentially flawed TeeChart installed that I can't get rid of and no documentation on how to use it with QuickReport. Could someone at Steema please tell me how to uninstall TeeChart and get it to install properly and give me some help in using it with QuickReport. Thanks.

Hi Stan,
This is something strange. You should have TeeChart files at
C:\Program Files\Steema Software\TeeChart Standard 7 for Delphi 2005\Delphi9\Bin and
C:\Program Files\Steema Software\TeeChart Standard 7 for Delphi 2005\Delphi9\Lib. If the problem persists you could try downloading the latest installer from our website.
To uninstall TeeChart you just have to go to Delphi 2005 Project\Options\Packages, unselect and remove TeeChart packages.
To install TeeChart being compatible with your Quick Report version please read
this article from our FAQs.

No luck. While installing using the latest TeeChartStandard7.04Delphi2005.exe I again received a "TeeChart files to Auto install cannot be found" error message to which I clicked Ok and Finish. The instructions that you pointed me to said to open the TeeQr77.dpk package. However, there are no dpk files anywhere in the "TeeChart Standard for Delphi 2005" directory created from the install. The only bpl files are in the "system" directory and these appear to be run-time packages based on the meager documentation. Could you please provide me with the correct instructions for Delphi 2005 to install TeeChart and compile it into QuickReport 4.05. I am not happy about trying to follow instructions for an older version and trying to figure out what the new file names are. Since I had an error message while installing with the exe, I don't think the install was finished correctly. I am using Delphi 2005 update 2 on Windows XP computer.

Hi Stan,
I can see this is an error with the TeeChart v7 Standard for Delphi 2005 installer. We are going to create a new installer and make it available at our download area in short.
Regarding the Quick Report issue, it's pretty easy guessing the file names, for example TeeQR77.dpk means TeeQR v7 package for Delphi 7. For Delphi 2005 it would be TeeQR79.dpk.

Is the new installer available yet?

Hi Stan,
Not yet, we are still working on it. Just stay tunned at the customer download area for it.

Version 7.05 installed with no problems. However, when following the instructions for compiling into quickreport I immediately had a problem. I de-installed the teechart package (dcltee79.bpl). Then the instructions say to do a file->open project and pick the teeqr79.dpk package. This file does not exist anywhere. There is the dcltee79.bpl file in the ...delphi9\bin directory, but that does not help. What do I do now?

Are you saying that I must save the chart as bitmap and import the saved file while loading quickreport? My company bought TeeChart standard with no source and have nothing to compile. I don't understand why you (representing TeeChart) can't give me the help I need. If TeeChart cannot be used with QuickReport anymore (except using the "bitmap" solution) then just say so. If it can, then please tell me how.

Hi Stan,
Sorry but I didn't meant you needed to export the chart as a bitmap.
What I meant is that TeeChart packages for Quick Report where not included with Delphi 2005 installers because Delphi 2005 doesn't include default Quick Report packages.
However we are considering creating those packages in future installers. In the meantime you can get TeeChart for Quick Report packages from
here and adapt them to your Quick Report, TeeChart and IDE version following the previous link and
this article instructions.

Sorry. I have to give up trying to compile TeeChart with Quickreport. I cannot waste anymore time on this. Steema should be the one wasting the time, not me. It is obvious to me that nobody from Steema has attempted to do compile TeeChart 7 with Delphi 2005 and QuickReport 4. If they did, then where are the step-by-step instructions? It seems like Steema has given up on QuickReport just like Borland did. The instructions are based on previous versions and, for me, are difficult to follow. If this was a shareware program then I could understand, but it's not. I still must use TeeChart (it is the best charting tool), so can anybody tell me what is the best reporting program to use (Rave, ReportBuilder, etc.) where the installation is the most reasonable and the success rate is the highest? Thanks for any help.

Hi Stan,
We are going to arrange the packages so that, at least, users can recompile them.
