Serious bug in 3d stacked bar charts

I have already informed Steema of this, so this is just to let other users know...
Teechart 7 still has a very obvious bug. It is unable to correctly draw stacked 3d bar charts if some of the values are negative and some are postive. The 3d effect gets screwed up.
This is very easy to reproduce - you can do it in the IDE with no programmmg. I did notify Steema about this way back in V3 of teechart, so Im kind of surpised it has not been fixed!
Steema has informed me this is being addressed in the next release.

Hi.
Yes, you're correct. This one is on our bug list for some time now. An all-purpose solution for stacking in 3d has not yet been found. We're still testing/investigating different approaches :
+ better anti-overlapping algorithm and TCanvas3D level
or
+ special drawing order when stacking in 3d (at TCustomBarSeries or at TChartSeries level)
We'll keep working on this problem and include improved version with each TeeChart release.
Has bug with 3d stacked bar charts been fixed in 7.02?

Hi - just checking if the new version (7.02) resolves the long-standing bug in Teechart, whereby 3d stacked bar charts with any negative values do not draw correctly.
Thanks!

Thanks - any idea when it might get fixed? Its been there for literally years now.
I'm guessing that it is due to a fundamental flaw in how 3d charts are rendered and therefore hard to fix. Is that true?

Hi,

I'm sorry, we cannot tell a fixed date. As you said I believe that the problem is related in how 3d chart are rendered and we must be sure what we change in order to not come with another problems.

Many thanks
and goes the same for you

Hi,
seems like this bug is still alive in Version 8.01. Is there any known workaround? (hard to believe this cannot be solved in 3 years).
Regards,
Timo

Hi Timo,
Yes, this hasn't been fixed yet and it is a high priority issue on our defect list to be fixed for next releases.

After 8 years (really!) and lots more gray hair, I thought I would check in with you all to see if there has been any progress on fixing this bug. I notice it still exists in TeeChart v806. I notice also that you said it was a high priority to fix back in 2007. Anything you can tell us?
Thanks!

Hi!
Many changes have been applied to the Bar series and the stacked negative values situation since v7.
I can actually see the following items in the release notes
v2011
TV52015730
TV52011757
v8
TV52014308
TV52011847
Please, give it a try to the actual evaluation version.
I actually see you are source code customer. If you still have problems with it with the actual version, please try to arrange a simple example project we can run as is to reproduce the problem here.
