GDI+ Print Preview Error

Post by LibDundas » Mon Apr 13, 2009 8:14 pm

I am trying to use the tChart1.Printer.Preview() method to get a print preview so I can print a chart but I get the following exception:

ExternalException was unhandled
A generic error occurred in GDI+

When I was using the evaluation version (after it expired), the exception shows up EVERY time before the print preview window appears. Is this a bug in the (expired) evaluation version?

I put this issue on the back burner for the last little while and havn't tried it since I bought the package...until today.

The bug occurs less frequently than with the eval version. In MOST cases, I can view a preview window and change some settings, but when I do the following steps I get the exception again:

Note I am using a chart with a few FastLine's on it.

1. Show the print preview dialog
2. On the Format tab, set the Detail Resolution to 100
3. On the Page tab, set the Margin Units to Percent
The exception should occur everytime.

As I mentioned, with my paid version of the software, I get the exception sometimes before the preview window shows and ALWAYS with the above steps. Is this a known bug? Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks

Hi LibDundas,

I could reproduce the issue here and added it (TF02014080) to the defect list to be fixed for next releases.
