Hi,

I've recently migrated my development machine to Vista platform and have just installed TeeChart .NET v3 x64 build. I've already successfully run TeeRegV3.

However, as the TeeChart is not showing up as a tab on my Visual Studio 2008, I tried to manually add the items to VS. When I tried to add TeeChart.dll from the x64 Build folder, it threw an error that "'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steema Software\TeeChart for .Net v3 x64 Build\TeeChart.dll' is not a Microsoft .NET module". Any advise how I could resolve this issue?

Thanks.

Hi pw,

TeeChart for .NET x64 build doesn't support design-time. It's a build-only assembly specifically created for building 64-bit native applications. At design-time you should use the standard version and only use x64 build when you need to build 64-bit applications.

Hi, I am trying to upgrade to the latest version. My current version was the following:

Code: Select all

Release Notes 3rd July 2009
Build 3.5.3470.15475
I installed the latest 'full' release:

Code: Select all

TeeChartNET3VSNET2008.exe
Release Notes 30th July 2009
Build 3.5.3498.27368
And then installed the UPDATE build:

Code: Select all

TeeChartNET3UpdateBuild.exe
February 17, 2010
Build 3.5.3700.30574/5 8,5 MB
However, the update build installs into its own folder "TeeChart for .NET v3 Update Build" with the different builds in the Frameworks folders.

In VS 2008, the toolbox only shows version 3.5.3498.27368 (July30 2009) and not the newest version. I could Browse for the the latest build and add it to the Toolbox, but is this the suggested method?

Thanks

Hi LibDundas,

I'm afraid that's the way to go with the update build. You could try updating AssemblyFolders entry and check if it's also updated in the ToolBox. You should also check that your project's TeeChart.dll reference are updated to the new version.

Hi Narcís, just for reference to others, I ended up fixing this minor setback by Right clicking on the Toolbox and selecting "Choose Items" and then unchecking all of the older version controls and making sure only the 3.5.3700.xxx controls were checked.

Now I know when I drag the TChart control from the toolbox, I have 2 options (v3.5.3700.xx or v4.0.x).

Thanks

Hi simon,

No, there will not be a Visual Studio 2010 installer for TeeChart for .NET v3. It will be available for latest TeeChart for .NET version available though.

For using TeeChart for .NET v3 in VS2010, a documentation upgrade will be necessary and will be made available as a separate download. You can currently use existing assemblies for VS2008, for example, and install them manually into the toolbox.
