Setting background color of charting area

I am trying to set the back ground color of the charting area bounded by the horizontal and vertical axis in a 2D chart

In code I am setting

tchart1.Chart.Walls.Back.Color = System.Drawing.Color.Turquoise;

When running I go to the editor by clicking on the appropriate button of a commander tool. I go to the tabs Chart | Walls | Back and see that the Color property is set to Turquoise and the Visible checkbox is checked but the color does not change.

What prevents this color from displaying?

I find that the I can go to the Chart | Walls | Back | Gradiant button | Color Tab and select a color for the Top and see that it is applied as soon as I click on the OK button.

I am using TeeChart for .NET 2005 version 3.2.2722.29258, which I know is a little out of date. I will be upgrading in the next few weeks after we release our software

Hi Mike,

It's most likely that you need to set the gradient to not visible, for example:

Code: Select all

			tChart1.Walls.Back.Color = Color.Turquoise;
			tChart1.Walls.Back.Gradient.Visible = false;

That worked
