We are upgrading our product to XP 64 and .Net 3.5 and from win32 and .Net 1.1.
I have a installation for TeeChartNET3VSNET2008.exe which throws some "ToolBoxeditor2008.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" errors during installation. Internally this is a null reference exception.
I have also a installation for TeeChartNet3x64 but I have no license for this product. Does this add support for X64 that I will need?
thanks

Hi Max,
I have a installation for TeeChartNET3VSNET2008.exe which throws some "ToolBoxeditor2008.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" errors during installation. Internally this is a null reference exception.
This indicates the installer failed to install TeeChart components in VS2008's toolbox. You can do it manually as I described
here.
I have also a installation for TeeChartNet3x64 but I have no license for this product. Does this add support for X64 that I will need?
Same license number as for the other installer you mentioned can be used for that. Yes, this is a x64 TeeChart assembly built for 64 bit specific applications.

Narcis,
I downloaded the latest installer for TeeChartNETVSNet2008 and also ran the TeeRegV3 per the instructions.
I still get the ToolboxEditor2008 errors as before. However, now the Choose Toolbox Items menu causes Visual Studio 2008 to crash (this did not happen with the previous installation). The problem goes away when I uninstall TeeChart.
The installer works properly on 32-bit XP.
thanks,
Max

Hi Max,
It works fine for me here using
latest maintenance release VS2008 installer. Which TeeChart version are you using? Could you please check if build 3.5.3225.32185 solves the problem for you?
Thanks in advance.

Narcis,
I have build 3.5.3225.32185 and that is the one causing VS to crash when accessing the Choose Toolbox items... menu. I am running VS 2008 SP1 with .Net 3.5 SP1 and Windows XP Pro X64 SP2.
I do not have any of the issues with XP 32 bit and VS 2008.
thanks,
Max

Hi Max,
I will check the VS2008 and .NET Framework v3.5 versions on the 64 bit machine I ran the tests and upgrade them if necessary. I will get back to you when I have further news.

Hi Max,
I had to install VS2008 and .NET Framework v3.5 SP1 on the machine I used for doing the tests. It's an up to date Windows 2003 Server Enterprise x64 machine with following VS2008 version:
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
Version 9.0.30729.1 SP
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 3.5 SP1
I couldn't reproduce the issue here. Which is the exact version you are using? Have you been able to reproduce this in ohter machines?
Thanks in advance!

I was having the same issue here and I was able to solve it by dragging the TChart dll into the toolbox window from Explorer. The tools are added without having to use the "add items" menu.
