Distorted Pie Chart with only one category

I have a chart bound to a stored procedure in SQL server. The stored procedure returns two columns (fields): category and cost. When there is only one record returned, the pie chart takes on an odd shape, which is A) not a pie and B) can be a small square, a lizajou (sic) or some other ridiculous torn shape. Has anyone seen this and is there a resolution?

I've never heard about that problem before. Could you please send us an example we can run "as-is" to reproduce the problem here?

There are 100,000 lines of code, 500+ stored procedures, 100+ SQL tables and I am not sure what to send and where. Is there a way for me to send you a screen shot so you can see it for yourself?

Hi RLT,

Yes, you can send a screen-shot to the newsgroups but it will be very difficult for us to solve the problem if we can not reproduce the problem here. I've tried populating a pie series with one value and works fine for me. It would be really helpful if you could arrange a simple example we can run "as-is" to reproduce and debug the issue here.

To send us files you just need to set up your newsreader with www.steema.net being our public newsgroups server. The settings for news://www.steema.net are the default ones.

BTW: Which TeeChart for .NET version are you using?

I was unable to setup the reader through Outlook and Exchange Server so I just sent them to you in an email.

Hi RLT,

I haven't received the e-mail. You can set up www.steema.net as a news server in Outlook Express (Windows default news reader). Even running (Start menu > Run) news://www.steema.net will add the news server to your default news reader.

Problem is, I can receive but not send. They have Outlook Exchange blocked here.
