Red X error, what causes it?

Hi,

I experienced a red X across my tchart. It does it once in a blue moon. I know that it's probably a complicated answer, and my program is quite large for diagnosis by forum members, so I thought I would ask in what cases does the Red X occur?

Some info.....4 or 5 fast line graphs drawing at speeds of 5 samples a second.

Is it a WinForms or WebForms application? Which TeeChart version are you using?

Hi Narcis,

The runtime version is v2.0.50727. It is a winforms application.

Hi Tnguyen,

Could you please download and install build 2.0.2652.22324/5, which is the latest version available at the client area? If the problem persists, could you please send us a simple example project we can run "as-is" to reproduce the problem here?

Hi Narcis,

Thank you for your reply. I have upgraded our software to the latest version. However, to ensure that these kinds of errors do not happen, would you be able to give me a list of reasons that could cause the red x to appear?

Hi Tnguyen,

I'm not able to say why this happened since we couldn't reproduce the issue here. In fact, this is a pretty strange issue in WinForms applications. It could be a problem with your project's TeeChart reference.

In WebForms applications this is more common and uses to be because WebCharts have been misconfigured. You will find more information on how to properly setup WebChart at Tutorial9 - ASP.NET Applications. You'll find the tutorials at TeeChart's program group.
