TeeChart Pro 8.02 and Quickreport 5

Post by Gus » Thu Jul 10, 2008 8:52 pm

I have compiled Teechart Pro version 8.02 for use with Quickreports version 5 (Delphi 2007) and have not been able to get it to work fully. In a simple test case I, I can add a TChart to a Quickreport report but when I run the program I immediately get a read exception 00000008.

Has this TeeChart been tested with the latest version of QuickReports? Do you have any suggestions or a fix?

Hi Gus,

It should be fixed for the next maintenance release. I have sent you the URL to download the v8.03 Release Candidate installer for Delphi 2007.

I may need to have access to the current version of the source as I am getting a message "F2051: Unit QRTee was compiled with a different version of DBChart.TCustomDBChart" (I do have a license that includes source). I also tried the set of bpl's that were in the bin folder and could not get it to work properly.

Thanks for your prompt previous reply!

Best regards,
Gus

Hi Gus,

I've just sent you the link to download v8.03 source code. Using forums searching feature you can also find several threads with the same error message, for example:

Hope this helps!

I uninstalled the compiler, Teecharts, QuickReports, deleted everyting that looked like was related to the two packages, and all other custom controls, but still was not able to get around the problem- three days of work. For the moment I have dropped back down to the 7.12 release with updates and that seems to work fine when I compile for Quickreports. I will go back to this when I have some more time. Thanks for your help.
I wish there was an easier way to do this upgrade- maybe a joint release of both packages that we could purchase as a bundle?

Thanks, Gus

Hi Gus,

Sorry but we don't have such packages available. It is very difficult for us having packages for every Delphi/C++ Builder, QuickReport and TeeChart possible combinations.

Do you still the get the very same error? Have you tried installing TeeChart v8.03 sources using TeeRecompile.exe tool shipped with the installation and enabling the "Quick Report packages" checkbox?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Seleo,

This is a known issue that has already been fixed. I've just sent you an e-mail with fixed QrTee.pas and v8.03 test version for C++ Builder 6. We expect to release v8.04 very soon.
