Hi,

I am uploading some snapshots, that is developed with the help of TeeChart.dll v 1.1.1819.27034. We don't have the source code for this.
Our requirement is same as snapshots.

If the same is possible with TeeChart.dll v 1.1.1819.27034, then why not
is working with newer version.

What do you get when you try and do the same in TeeChart v3? Can you also upload some screenshots of what happens when you use v3? Can you also please post the code you are using with TeeChart v3 so we can try and reproduce the problem here?
Thank you!

Great, thank you. Below is a list of the files that you have uploaded:
  • 3.1Images.rar
    3DChartCode.rar
    3DPlotLegend.bmp
    ZAxisPlot.png
Can you tell me which of these files I should be looking at that my colleague Narcís hasn't already looked at? If there's no new code for me to look at and if Narcís has already determined that there is a defect, how further can I help you?
Thank you!

Hi,

3.1Images.rar - Already place code based on v 1.1.1819.27034
3DChartCode.rar - New code based on latest version of TeeChart
3DPlotLegend.bmp - This is related to legend problem
ZAxisPlot.png - This is related to formatting of legend on z-axis.

Basically, we are trying to achieve, what is there in the 3.1Images.rar.

Thank you for the information! However, I cannot compile the code in 3DChartCode.rar in TeeChart.NET v1.

I am under the impression that what you want to achieve can be done in TeeChart.NET v1 but not in TeeChart.NET v3, is that correct? If this is the case then it would be useful to have some code that can compile and run using both TeeChart.NET v1 and TeeChart.NET v3 so we can clearly see the differences.
Thank you!

3DChartCode.rar - This code is compiled on newer version not on v 1.1.1819.27034

We don't have the source-code for 3D plot which is created on v 1.1.1819.27034.

I am trying to give you an idea by showing snapshots. We are also using the TeeChart for creating 3D.

I have created an exapmle also.

Please go through the previous e-mail, you will get to know.

Please reply.

Do you still have a copy of the TeeChart.NET v1 TeeChart.dll? If not and if you are in possession of a License for TeeChart.NET v1 then you should be able to download it.

With a clear, code example that I can run "as-is" either using TeeChart.NET v1 or TeeChart.NET v3 to see the differences in behaviour then I will be able to help you.
Thank you!

Hi Christopher,
What we are trying to say that we are having an old application based on TeeChart.dll v 1.1.1819.27034 and we had uploaded the snapshot of that application. we don't have code related to TeeChart.dll v 1.1.1819.27034.

There has been lost of changes between v1.1 and 3.5 of TeeChart.dll so we are not able to compile our latest code using old version (TeeChart.dll v 1.1.1819.27034).

We are just simply asking you, how to get the same result using TeeChart.dll 3.5. which is given in TeeChart.dll v 1.1.1819.27034.
So snapshots are just for reference purpose and use "3DChartCode.rar " file to compile and modify code to see the problem and find out the solution.

Regards,
Sanyog

I understand.

I am simply asking you if have the TeeChart.dll v1. If you have this dll* then you could create a simple application which I could run using either TeeChart.dll v1 or TeeChart.dll v3. In this way I will clearly be able to see what is the difference in behaviour between TeeChart.dll v1 and TeeChart.dll v3 and so will be able to more quickly help you.

I'm afraid I don't have the time to try and reverse engineer your TeeChart.dll v1 application based on a couple of images. Having an application that I can run "as is" using either TeeChart.dll v1 or TeeChart.dll v3 is the only way I can see that I'm going to be able to help you.

I hope you understand.

*if you don't have the TeeChart.dll v1 but do have a License for it then you will be able to download it from our website.
Thank you!

Hi Christopher,
I just uploaded the sample application using teechart.dll v 1.1 . Sample application using v3.5 had been already uploaded last week so
Please look into the differences and let us know how to see the same result using newer version.

Great, thank you! I have now been able to reproduce the issue. This is the screenshot using v1:

and this is the screenshot using v3:

As far as I can see, Narcís has already recognised this as a defect and has entered it into our bugtracking software with number TF02013295.

Have you tried using the workaround that Narcís suggests until this defect is fixed?
Thank you!

Hi Christopher,
We had tried the work around also but it doesn't work when you rotate the the 3D plot using horizontal or vertical scroll bars. I have uploaded the same code now(3DChartCodeWorkAround.rar).

Please verify by rotating the plot and let us know if there is any other work around.

Thanks and Regards,
Sanyog

Mmm. Looking at the two images I posted more closely, I can see that the lack of gridlines is not the only problem. In fact, the actual shape of the surface series is different, it seems that one of the points has been left out of the surface series calculation. As Narcís's workaround only addresses the gridlines I would not expect it to modify the actual shape.

This problem looks more serious than was originally described. I have updated the description of defect TF02013295 and have also increased its severity rating. Unfortunately I cannot think of a simple workaround to this issue at the moment.
Thank you!

Thanks Christopher,
Still, if any solutions comes to your way, please update us.
It's a core feature of my application.

Sanyog
