Export to PDF: Can we package some free text?

Post by asupriya » Wed Jan 13, 2010 11:53 am

I have a chart that is currently being saved/exported as PDF. I am wondering if I can also include some free text (non-formatted ASCII/Unicode text) along with the chart. The requirement is to be able to add a brief note to the chart and then export the whole thing as a single PDF document.

Please help. Any sample code will be greatly appreciated.

A Followup question is can the annotationTool be used to put multi-line text? I can't get it working with the demo here Welcome !\Tools\Annotation.

Thanks

Hi asupriya,

Excuse us for the delay.

I think you should be able to export to pdf your chart including your custom drawing doing something like what Christopher suggested here

I can write multiple lines in that demo. Click the "Edit annotation" button and press Ctrl+Enter to jump to the next line in the text box.
